A new type of battery, called nanoball battery, could charge in just 30 seconds, and have other improved performance attributes.
Nanoball batteries have the anode and cathode made of many nano-sized balls, thus greatly increasing the surface area of each.
But this news is from 2009 so it looks like they didn't improve it enough to market it.
