That's the average of all tested cans of US brand canned food. 100% of Campbell's cans tested positive for BPA. For store brands, 100% of Target brands tested positive for BPA and 88% of Walmart brand canned food.
86% of food cans in Canada still contain BPA, according to this article.
BPA free items, though, do not mean they are safe. There are many more phthalates out there companies can use in plastics.
